I have a blog that I have been working on for a while. I have recipes from my mother that have been “passed down” that have no source, I have recipes from friends, cookbooks, and online. All of the recipes I have tried and even have pictures of. The recipes I have found online, I have sited the source and included the link to the website. I have also done the same if it came from a cook book.

I am not charging for these recipes, but I do have google adsense and other affiliate links on my site. I have seen other people do the same with their blogs. Is this plagiarism? I am NOT trying to pass the recipes off as my own.

How do you really commit recipe plagiarism? I am sure there are thousands of stew, chili, cookie, brownie, etc, recipes out there. I am sure at one point someone’s grandmother got a cookie recipe off of a box, added some vanilla and said it was their family secret. I have seen a few sites where it lists the ingredients and directions word for word. Thanks.

Content as we know it is the Life-Blood or FUEL, if you will, of the Internet.

That was and still is the Internets sole purpose, except only now it’s commercialized, giving the online entrepreneur the world at their fingers tips.

And the facts are that usually when people first come online it’s not to go purchase something, it’s to look for Information that will answer a question they might have about a particular product they’re interested in and/or to a problem they are dealing with and are searching for a solution.

Ask yourself this, “Why do I go online?”

Does it resemble anything like what I just stated?

Only you can answer that.

These are simply the facts with out a doubt… Period!

Now that you have an idea of WHY people come online, I’m now going to explain to you how you can…

“Explode Your Google Adsense and Affiliate Commissions Through Niche Blog Content Sites”

Did you notice the last two words within the quotations?

That’s right, Content Sites.

What are Content Sites?

I think it’s pretty self explanatory but the basic definition of a Content Site is this – it’s a site that contains targeted content that targets a particular niche or many niches.(niche examples: cars, fitness, hobbies, etc.)

Not quite up to speed on what a blog is, here’s a quick definition of a blog – a blog(A.K.A. Web-Log) is simply a place to go and post your personal thoughts that you can share with your subscribers and/or readership and receive feedback.

Now that you know the basic definitions of a Content Site and a Blog lets continue.

Content Sites can contain Hundreds-to-Thousands of pages of keyword rich content, which by the way is exactly what the Search Engines love and will come back for if New content is added on a frequent basis giving the owner of that site lots of opportunity to benefit from the Free traffic inwhich the content pages, or what I like to call Feeder Pages, generate.

So, now that you have an idea of what a Content Site and a Blog is it’s now time to tell you how you can build your own Niche Blog Content Site Empire, no matter what your niche is, using Blogs, Google Adsense and ClickBank affiliate products.

Bare in mind that the steps outlined below are only going to be a summarization of the actual process involved.

So, with that said, here it is.

Step #1. Set up a Blog.

The first step is quite simple. All you have to do is set up a Blog either through…

Blogger.com – http://www.blogger.com

or…

WordPress.org – http://www.wordpress.org

This blog your setting up is going to be the foundation of your Niche Blog Content Site and is where the rest of the pieces of the puzzle are going to be added to once you’ve set it up.

(Quick Tip: Make sure you use your Target Keywords within your URL of your niche blog and in the Title and Description. VERY Important!)

Once you have your niche blog set up move on to Step #2.

Step #2. Adding your Google Adsense code.

Depending on your experience with scripting and html, it’s now time to add your Google Adsense code to your new niche blog in 3 strategic places.

Google allows you to add 3 Google Adsense blocks only to one page, no more than that, so I recommend one at the Top, one in the Right or Left sidebar depending on the template you choose and one at the Bottom of your blog.

By doing this your almost forcing your reader to click on a link within the Google Adsense block, which is of course, is exactly what you want and where your going to make the money.

The other great thing about Google Adsense is the ads are targeted to the content that you post, giving the reader even more reason to click through.

Here’s a few resources for you that will show you how to add the Google Adsense code to your blog using the services I mentioned above if your not sure how to yourself.

Blogger.com: http://help.blogger.com/bin/answer.py?answer=964

WordPress.org: http://www.acmetech.com/blog/adsense-deluxe/

Simply follow the instructions and you’ll have Google Adsense installed on your niche blog in no time.

Step #3. Find a related ClickBank product.

Now it’s time to go shopping at ClickBank.com – http://www.clickbank.com – for a related information product that targets your niche.

Once there click on the link Earn Commissions at the bottom.

This will bring to to their directory where you’ll find many products to choose from that will target any niche your blog is about.

(Quick Tip: The first 10 listed under each category are the TOP converting programs, meaning… their the ones making the most money.)

If you don’t have a ClickBank.com nickname you’ll have to sign up for one. It’ll only take you a few minutes.

From there, once you’ve chosen a program to join your going to want to collect all the affiliate materials available, like Articles, Banners, Text Links, etc., because your going to place these on your NEW niche blog site with your affiliate link linked to them so when your reader clicks on them and decides to buy the related information, you get the commission.

Well… there you have it, 3 steps to “Explode Your Google Adsense and Affiliate Commissions Through Niche Blog Content Sites”.

Now the only thing left for you to do is to start building an audience by promoting your Blog.

Here’s a few resources for you to get started with.

Ping-O-Matic – http://pingomatic.com

RSS Top 55 – http://www.masternewmedia.org/rss/top55

Remember this is just a summarized version and is only going to give you the basic steps, so good luck to you and your Niche Blog Content Site Empire.

There are some simple but very effective SEO tricks to max out your Adsense account. This article will discuss what they are also show you how easily optimize your Adsense web pages with the highest paying keywords, in just a matter of minutes. You’ve probably heard of SEO, since it’s very hot right now. It stands for Search Engine Optimization. SEO is the process of increasing the amount of visitors to a site by designing the site content so that the site ranks high in the search results of a search engine.

The higher a Web site ranks in the results of a search, the greater the chance that a user will visit that site. Let’s face it, most people are lazy. They’re not going to spend time clicking and scanning tons of pages of search results. Therefore, where a site ranks in a web search is absolutely critical for directing more traffic toward the site. SEO helps to make sure that a site is accessible to a search engine and improves the chances that the site will be found by the search engine. To understand how this works, you need to know a little bit about how search engines work. Typically, a search engine sends out a spider to fetch as many documents as it can. Then another program, called an indexer, reads these documents and makes an index based on the words each document contains. Each search engine uses a unique proprietary algorithm to create indexes so that hopefully only meaningful results are returned for each query. These indexers compute the keyword density.

Keyword density refers to the how often a certain word appears in a given document. It’s given as a percentage. Let’s say you have a site about running shoes. A keyword density of 7% on “running” on that web page means that out of 1000 words, 70 of them are “running.” Unfortunately, the quick-buck con artists have figured this out, and they will put up a site that has a front page that is totally littered with keywords. To give you an idea, a normal key word density for the main key words is about 3 to 7%. What these people will do is have something insane like a 25% keyword density on their front page. Then that page ranks #1 in search engine results when users search for that word. Once the user is on the entry page, they’re likely to enter the site. Pornographers do this by putting up sites that have content like: Sex, sex, sex. Sex is here. You want sex. We have sex. Pix of sex, lots of sex. See how annoying that gets? Search engines used to use meta-tags to search for web sites. This was nice, since the meta-tag was a hidden area of your page where you could put all the relevant keywords and not have to worry about making your content sound awkward by overusing certain words.

Things to Consider There are many things to consider when you go to put keywords in the text of your pages. Most search engines index the full text of each page, so you should put your keywords throughout your text. However, each search engine uses different ranking algorithms. And that’s the really hard part–difficult though it may be, you need to keep all of them in mind. General rules Your main page should be full of keywords because that page has a higher chance of being indexed than other pages. And for some search engines, it will be the only page that is indexed. Some engines will rank your page highly if it has at least 100 words on it, so consider that your minimum. Directories include pages based on the quality of their content, so make sure your pages aren’t just lists of keywords.

If you do that, you risk not getting in the big directories AND you will irritate readers-they won’t come back. Important design concepts When you create your pages’ content, pay attention to: Keyword prominence Proximity Density Frequency The thing about keyword prominence is that the best place to place keywords in your text is at the top of each page, preferably the main page. The closer your keywords appear to the start of the page or the start of a sentence, the better. You’ll frequently see “keyword prominence” used to describe search engines’ algorithms. Be aware that some engines also say the bottom of the page should contain keywords as well

If you want a blog and want to make money with your blog quickly, then you should look into wordpress adsense templates.

Blogs are very popular today and the search engines especially google love wordpress blogs. You can go to wordpress.com and set up a wordpress blog for free on their site, but I suggest that you get your own domain name and web hosting to set up your own wordpress blog. This way you have total control of your blog.

After you get your domain name, look for a quality web host that allows you cpanel access. Once you are logged in to to your cpanel, click on the fantastico button and you can install wordpress in a matter of minutes with just a few clicks of the mouse. Yes, it is that easy and even a caveman could do it.

You are all set up with your own domain name and web hosting and have wordpress installed. Now you need a professional looking theme so you have a professional looking site so you can start earning an income.

One great way to monetize your blog is with google adsense. Adsense is great because they will show ads that are relevant to the content on your page and you get paid when someone clicks on an ad.

To help with the learning curve you should invest in wordpress adsense templates. Here are 4 things to look for in a good wordpress adsense template.

1. Easy Customization
Most people do not know how to read or edit a php file. Look for a wordpress template that has already added the adsense for you. All you need to do is open a couple of files and add your publisher id number. An added bonus is if a video tutorial is included that shows you exactly how to add your publisher id.

You also want it to be very easy to add your own unique content to your blog without having the template graphics move to change the look of your blog.

2. SEO and Navigation Features
Here is a list of features to look for:
• WordPress search
• Archives listed in navigation
• Categories listed in navigation
• Blogroll or links
• Adsense links units at top
• Commenting and discussion possible
• Compatible with wordpress plugins

3. Professionally Designed Headers
You want your blog to look professional and grab the visitors attention. A good header will make the visitor stay and read the content on your blog.

4. Earn income from multiple streams of income
You want to make sure that you are not depending solely on adsense to make money online. Make sure you are able to add items like an opt in form for list building, affiliate products that go along with your niche and other streams of income.

Blogging is a great way and one of the easiest ways to start making money online with adsense. So get started right now and start making your share of the google money pie.

Now you know what to look for a quailty wordpress adsense template-wouldn’t you like your own set of 100 wordpress adsense templates complete with video tutorials and a complete traffic starter kit? Get these adsense templates in profitable niches by visiting: http://www.professionaladsensetemplates.com/

When preparing to make money with AdSense, most people have heard that it’s a good program to help your revenue picture on a web site. There is some conflicting information regarding the program as to whether or not it is simple to do to earn extra cash. If you are willing to put in the effort, you can earn a nice income by using the AdSense program, but it is not effortless. It helps to have a few backup secrets to improve the revenue that you can expect to bring in. Here are just a few of the factors that will help promote AdSense revenue on your web site.

Design your Site

Hopefully, you will create a site that reflects your own product or service as well as the philosophy or theme of the site. When you design the site, it should be on the subject of interest to plenty of people. Otherwise, you will get so few visitors to the site that it will not be worthwhile for advertisers to place ads. They always want to use web sites that have the most visitors and thus the highest likelihood that there will be more profit per click. You, as the web site owner want to make money with Adsense, but the advertiser also wants to gain the revenue from effective advertising of his or her product.

Design AdSense Ads

To earn extra cash with AdSense, you must develop AdSense ads that improve the amount of traffic to your web site, but you must also design AdSense ads that are suited to the web site where they are placed. You should get the necessary help from tutorials about such aspects of the ad design as the most attractive color, whether the ad should have a frame or border around it or be blended into the content, how large the ad should be and what shape is the most profitable. All of these questions have been the subject of extensive study so that you can gain the benefit of accurate information.

Choose the Best Keywords

Choose the best keywords in order to make money with AdSense. There is software available to help you identify and utilize these keywords to maximize your cash revenue from Google AdSense. The keywords that pay the highest are not necessarily the best choice for utilization on your web site, especially if you are a novice entrepreneur and have not yet built up the traffic that is necessary to create high revenue with AdWords.

Improve Traffic Opportunities

The other major factor you need to consider in order to make money with AdSense is that of the volume of traffic that you attract to your web site. You can increase the targeted traffic by several means. For example, you should do everything possible to legitimately increase your page ranking. Search engine optimization techniques are useful in increasing and maintaining your web site page ranking. Providing good content on a popular subject in a niche market is more likely to attract search engine positive rankings.

Revenue secrets that will allow you to Make Money With Adsense can be found at the web site http://www.goodinternetmoney.com/Learn-How-To-Make-Money-With-Joel-Comm-Adsense-Secrets-4-0.php.

How can you get to the top of Google, Yahoo and Microsoft’s Bing? This in many ways is the ‘holy grail’ of most webmasters. By occupying the top positions in the most popular search engines, for the most popular keywords, a constant flux of visitors are passing through your Adsense site.

This is the ultimate position to be in for an Adsense Publisher, after that the potential to make serious money is all in your hands. Success is there for you to gain or squander depending on knowledge and skill.

The best way to get to the top is to apply some essential Adsense Search Engine Optimization (SEO) techniques. Firstly, you need to do some essential keyword research. You need to gather your general keywords that describes the theme of your site, the page specific keywords that describes the content of each page and some long-tail keyphrases to give your site some depth. With these keywords all pre-prepared you are in a position to do some Adsense SEO.

In this article we are going to concentrate mostly on the three most important elements relating to on-page SEO. In the grand scheme of Adsense SEO this is the essential middle part of the process while keyword research forms the foundation. With a good solid foundation in the form of good well researched keywords you are in a position to build a solid Adsense SEO campaign. On-page Adsense SEO involves using everything in your power to optimize your site for the search engines, whereas off-page SEO involves using methods outside your website to boost your rankings (articles writing, forums, blogs etc…).

From a search engine perspective the most important on-page SEO elements are:

Full URL: This is the domain name, directory structure and file name

Page title: Found between the tags in the head section

Heading tag: and tags very important elements but often poorly used

Body text: Actual content of your website

Meta tags: These are placed in the tags. It is basically a short description of the page used for snippet creation by search engines and some directories

An important place to use the general keywords that describes your site is in the URL, most essentially the domain name. No matter what anyone says, Google and especially Yahoo give significant weight to domain names. It is prominent and states unequivocally what your site is about. Also, it clearly indicates that you’re quiet serious about it because you very likely had to pay for it. Domain names matter and it is worth investing in a good one if the ones that best describes your site isn’t available. But… if your Adsense site is niche, if you did some good keyword research, you shouldn’t have a problem ensuring that your Adsense SEO campaign gets off on the right foot.

However, if you can’t get your general keywords in the domain name make sure that the filename contains your most important keywords.

Next important is the page title. To ensure that the search engines, know what your page is about and to make sure it turns up in the relevant search queries, you have to make sure you deploy your keywords wisely in the page title. Search engines use the page title as a quick means of summarizing a page they also use it as a link for the results they generate for each site. A good Adsense SEO title needs to contain the best descriptive keywords, but it also needs to attract the attention of a potential visitor. Remember, page titles don’t have to be short, but ideally according to W3C (World Wide Web Consortium) it shouldn’t be more than 64 characters long (including spaces). So pay close attention to them making sure that the Adsense keywords used in your page title are also be present in the URL, heading and in your meta-tags.

After the page title the most important on-page element is the heading tag. This is one of the most important, yet underused elements on the page. The primary reason for this is because it doesn’t look good when used raw (without CSS styling). But search engines ‘see’ and tags. They recognize the keywords placed in them and they are given significant SEO weighting. Use heading tags to organize the look of the content on your website. You can use headers to create useful keyword rich titles within your pages and use it to describe the content of paragraphs of text. Breaking up the page this way helps with the visual look of your web page, giving your page enough white space and making it easier on the eye of your visitors.

These are the primary Adsense SEO factors to consider when putting together your website. You should also try to distribute you page specific keywords liberally throughout the pages of your site. Meta-tags are not given much relevance at all by the search engines so don’t spend too much time optimizing this aspect of your site.

Adsense SEO is crucial for success. Making sure you adhere to a few essential rules ensures that your website turns up on the most relevant search queries. There is however, a none SEO, but equally important reason to optimize you website with keywords. The better your on-page SEO, the better the quality of ads Google delivers to you. A good Adsense SEO campaign is a win, win situation. It may take time but is a process practiced by the most successful Adsense publishers and is well worth the effort.

It’s worthwhile to examine Google’s definition of Google AdSense and Click Fraud, before delving deeper into “AdSense Fraud” .

Google AdSense fraud is one of the diseases that plague the Ad Words advertisers. The AdSense program essentially allows website publishers/owners to sign up with Google, enabling them to display Google Ads on their sites. These publishers essentially act as “Google Partners”. The ads chosen by the Google both for display are contextual and the ads are related to the contents of the publisher’s website, more specifically that particular web page. The intent for Google is to capitalize on the traffic to these (in practice) niche sites and provide highly direct targeted traffic to the advertiser. A subset of the users of the Google Partner website, click on those ads and Google charges the advertiser per click. Google shares the booty with the website publisher but the revenue sharing ratio falls under Google’s “undisclosed “criteria. While the exact amount can be reverse engineered, the take home lesson is that the final amount is proportional to Google’s income from that click.

In theory it’s a match made in heaven. The advertiser gets good ROI through targeted traffic, the publisher gets to monetize the traffic on their website and the web browser gets to buy that classic CD that he couldn’t live without. Not to mention that Google gets a wad of cash. The gods of lucre smile beneficently on all.

Unfortunately, this happy façade hides blemishes. Severe ones. For all Google AdSense Publishers are not created equal. While (we daresay) many advertisers have a genuine website, providing a valuable or interesting service to the world wide community, there is a significant number of unscrupulous operators who are out there to prey on the advertisers. These creatures of the night (and we will explain later why we use that term), make websites for the express purpose of milking AdSense revenue.

Visit now – Picmoney.com

This category of fraudsters deserves a taxonomy of its own, which we have developed (the other categories, click fraud and impression fraud are even bigger problems in some industries). In the interest of not being gender biased, we have alternated between genders. We hope that our lighthearted tone does not mask the revulsion that we feel towards these cheats.

Regressive Fraudster ( aka ClickMonkey ):

This guy is at the bottom of the food chain. Inspired by the riches of his neighbor Ms. Jones, who has been making more than ten grand a month in AdSense revenue, he plans a course of action. He “invests” in a clickbot software ( a simple google search reveals many) and gets a list of anonymous proxy addresses. He then goes to register a few domains and hires someone off of elance to create a “network of sites”and “ click bot ”. He hopes that the interlinked sites will provide each some “link popularity” and increase his page rank. If only it were that simple! He then proceeds to use the 30 dollar clickbot to start clicking on the sites. Or he could click on them himself manually using the proxies. We don’t call him click monkey for nothing. He clicks and clicks all the way to see his account getting banned. No banana for this monkey! His calls of despair to google fall on deaf ears. This person is likely to quit, but sometimes retries to get up the food chain, the Wanna -Be-Fraudster.

Wanna -Be Fraudster (aka BOZO):

This girl searches for high paying keywords like “home loan equity” (current ad words rate: 45 dollar), or “web hosting” (ad words costing 20 dollar). She correctly guesses that the AdSense payout is proportional to what Google earns and therefore homes in on such words. Her strategy is to make a page with contents that are appropriate for the targeted high payout keyword. She moves ahead by clicking on the link multiple times and recruits friends and family to give them a click. Or ten!

Little does she know that Google has a 45 day inspection period before she get her nubby little fingers on that cash. With little to no knowledge of Click through Ratio, her greed couples with her ignorance. Seeing her ill-gotten paper wealth multiplying in her AdSense interface, she increases the clicks. Google however inspects the CTR and throws a fit when they see a CTR exceeding 20%. Furthermore, Google notices clicks mostly originating from a few IP addresses and that essentially seals her fate (or rather docks her earnings). That virtual cash is now just some deleted bytes on a hard disk on Google’s servers. She moans, nay she rail against the cruelty of Google’s policy. Some of these people wisely cease and desist such activities, perhaps philosophizing about the NFL (no free lunch) theorem. Others however see it as ground school for the next stage of nefarious behavior. The Almost-There Fraudster.

Almost-There Fraudster (aka SmartAlec ):

The archetypical ATF is supremely confident in his ability to fool Google. Like the BOZO, he looks for high paying keywords and makes appropriate website(s). Let’s assume that he is in a third world country, just to make the case more interesting. The case described here is 1 year old news. He has read this article and taken the learnt the subsequent lesson. He knows that that the clicks from the IP Addresses of USA, UK & Canada are worth much more than the clicks from the IP Addresses from the third world countries. He therefore seeks to befriend people from such IP addresses by logging onto messenger services.

This way, he gets the unique, unrelated IP clicks and (he hopes) that Google is fooled. Remember “creature of the night”. Well, these people typically are more than a few time zone removed from the US or Canada and therefore are up at odd hours whenever they feel that their targets are most likely to be active. Plus they sometimes have to deal with “inconveniences” like a day job.

AT fraud thinks that the clicks he obtained by trolling on these sites is a job well done. He has got clicks from the IP address of his choice .. An interesting factoid is that for AdSense, state also matters. Clicks from Washington and New York State have the highest payout for AdSense Fraud.

He has just one problem. His tragic flaw. While he worked so hard to get the unique IP and high earnings, he is not able to maintain a good CTR. He is likely to cross the limit of 30-40% of daily CTR and 10-20% of overall CTR. He ends up in the same purgatory as the BOZO. The account is banned, and he gets the abominated email. Yes, the “AdSense account closure”. Almost-There is never good enough in this nether world of AdSense gaming. Although it is possible that he would have made a few thousand dollars before the punishment catches up to his crime. Crime doesn’t quite pay, now does it? Well, gentle reader, unfortunately crime _is_ paying to the next category. Fraudster Maestro ( aka Satan’s Spawn).

Fraudster Maestro (aka Satan’s Spawn):

This category of fraudsters is the most sophisticated and rarely gets caught by google . She has researched the high paying keywords as well as the CTR issues well. She has the smoothest lines in the business of soliciting clicks. She can flirt online, and ask to click the “link” for her picture. Or she may claim that clicking the link causes the hungry child to be fed in Ethiopia. Let’s follow a typical “simple” chat session:

US User: hello

FM Fraud: what are your coordinates, handsome?

US User: NY, NY

FM Fraud: Oh! Wish I could be there. Can you help out a damsel in distress?

US User: sure

AT Fraud: I have made a site and want to see if all the links on this page are working or not. Can you please click on the links and see if the other page loads?

US User: Sure. Link?

FM Fraud:www.fraudstersite.com/high-value-keyword-page.html

US User : wait! Yes I checked all the links and they are working fine.

FM Fraud:

Thanks

US User: so can we talk about you now? (Message Not Delivered as the fraudster has blocked the User and is busy looking for a new victim)

And she has lots of tricks up her repertoire besides chatting up strangers. She knows about opt in lists, usenet and blogs where she can snare the victims. Technically savvy and able to empathize with her victims she doesn’t let arrogance get in her way to success. Since she is very mindful of the CTR issues she has a secret weapon. She has optimized her site for some low paying keywords which are really not competitive. She organically gets lots of traffic (but for things unrelated to those competitive high paying keywords). In her website, she may be giving away free greeting cards or free screensavers. End result is a fabulous impression count. The second step for her is to makes unrelated pages on the same site and these pages pertain to the high paying keywords. These keywords are used to attract the victims of chat sessions. The process of getting the clicks is different but the results due to CTR are very lucrative.

So, how does all this geek talk affect the PPC advertiser? It’s a 5 billion dollar+ dollar market (for exact projections onto the future, please check out our FAQ, and with a 20% + fraud rate, we are talking about a 1 BILLION dollars fraud per year. Even Dr. Evil may be impressed by such a number. It’s greater than the cumulative GNP of a few banana republics. And a fair chunk is ending up in the coffers of these fraudsters. We know from anecdotal evidence, how people are clearing up to 20 grand a month. All, courtesy of the hapless PPC advertiser.

We want to emphasize that there are lots of authentic sites serving genuine content. But unfortunately the existence of these people (as discussed above) reduces the ROI of many advertisers to the extent that they rethink their interest in PPC. In the word of one of our organic SEO customers, with PPC “you always get a little less back than you put in”. It needn’t be that way, if you watch carefully where your ad words traffic is coming from and take some steps (such as traffic analysis or at the very least a log file analysis) to protect arm yourself. Look for patterns, some of which are obvious(such as large traffic spikes from India). Unfortunately other patterns may require a doctorate in artificial intelligence. Still the keyword is to stay nimble. Convincing search engines to refund money is a lot tougher and a lot more work than proactively watching for problem visitors and taking steps that you deem appropriate. Before the situation goes out of hand. Remember, an ounce of prevention…

It needn’t be that way, if you stay nimble. Convincing search engines to refund money is a lot tougher and a lot more work than proactively watching for problem visitors and taking steps that you deem appropriate.

Some things you can do to stay ahead of the game. This is by NO means an exhaustive list, but it’s a start. It’s sorted by the level of protection in ascending that you may need.

1> Let your visitors know that you are tracking them and know quite a bit about them. For instance, if you visit www.sofizar.com , you will see information about yourself. You can display this information to all your visitors, or only to some of them. It can be in-your-face or subtle, but it will remind at least some of the fraudsters that they are being watched. Sofizar provides free sample code and connection to its database allowing you to display “premium” information (like City, ISP, and ISP contact number).

2> Invest in a serious visitor tracking software. Set alarms based on the number of times a person clicks on your site in a certain time period(hourly, weekly, monthly). Display the same information to someone who is definitely PPCing your budget to death, as a custom message box. Something harsh, if the pattern keeps up. “We are logging the usage, and we are noticing that you keep clicking on our site through PPC. If you don’t cease, we would be forced to call your local ISP at +91-23-344-5678”(if you see the information that we can glean about visitors, you will know we can get even more specific). This will weed some of the casual fraudsters.

3> Start checking for things that we have discussed earlier, by investing in an industrial strength data collection package. Based on your data collection, one strategy is to score each visitor, deducting(or adding points), based on the following (non exhaustive) list.

a. Visitor conversion/past conversion history.

b. Visit Depth Analysis.

c. Visit Time Analysis(time spent on each page and time of day the visit happens).

d. Cookies/Javascript/”Unknown OS”

e. Keyword Cost analysis.

f. Anonymous Proxy Server

g. Is part of “Fraudster list”.

h. Country/Localization analysis(are you really targeting people in Sao Paolo , Brazil for your French Restaurant in New York ?).

4> Do pattern matching. See what your top 20% of your customers do as part of a “macro pattern” and match the visitor against that pattern.

Keep in mind that you will get a few “false positives” and vice versa. A few innocent people may get tagged unfairly as “fraudsters” while a few “fraudsters” may well give you the slip. It’s not an exact science, but over a period of time you can get fairly close. If you decide to take up your case with Google, you have to make a very convincing case. All based on meticulous data, instead of (what may be considered by them as) paranoia.

Over the long term, as the threat evolves and the fraudsters improve, you have to keep adapting your strategy using your friends, diligent data collection, statistics and pattern matching.

If you have any further question, comments or want us to give you a free evaluation if your PPC campaign is a likely magnet for fraudsters, please email to: art@sofizar.com .

Is there a BIG secret to the huge Adsense checks? Yes, you’ve seen those screen shots of 5-figure Adsense earning … so have I. And that made you thinking, why are some people earning those huge income, and you are not.

Whatever people may say, I only see these are the only factors that make the difference between your earning and those ‘big-guns’.

1 – Adsense Placement

Yes, putting your Adsense in a special way can be the difference between 1% click-through rate (CTR) and 10% CTR. There have been some strategies outlined where you have to make your Adsense like content. You do that by removing the borders and using the same font color that you are using for your website.

Choosing the bigger Adsense format has always been recommended. It is said that the big square, wide skyscraper are the top performer. Me … yes, I am experiencing good things with these ad formats.

Some may say differently, but I am doing well with the Ad Links too. It’s those text link ads, which requires two-step clicks. I place them like a navigation link on my website, and I am doing quite OK with them.

2 – High Paying Keywords

Here’s another known secret. Go for high paying keywords. If your website is about a topic where advertisers are paying high money for them, then you may get more money with Adsense.

This is common sense. When people are paying $5.00 per click on Adwords, you may get a lot of money on your Adsense. And if the ads that are showing on your website are ads that people are paying $1.00 per click, you may get lesser than a dollar per click.

Known topics where advertisers are paying top dollars are like DUI lawyers, credit card applications, web hosting … you know the rest. And you can even go to Overture Bid Tools to guess what people are paying for certain keywords. If you come across a topic that you think might do well, you can give a try there.

http://uv.bidtool.overture.com/d/search/tools/bidtool/

But the problem with this, high paying keywords are normally very competitive when you are trying to drive traffic with search engine optimization (SEO). So some would just go for low hanging fruits.

3 – Get More Traffic

Yep … no secret here. The more traffic you get, the more clicks you are likely to get. And more clicks means more money. But then again, you should think about the type of websites that pull traffic.

I believe many of top earners are actually operating a community-based websites. These are like forums, photo blog service providers, blogs that has grown its readerships and maybe even dating profiles. Another way of doing this is where you build your website around user created content. You allow users to create the content, like put in comments and reviews.

These are the sites that where people keep coming back for more. The good thing is you don’t have to crack your head for content. If you think you can build one like those, then go for it.

On the contrary, many are actually growing sites in smaller niches. And they go for SEO for traffic. I have to say that this is the most popular when it comes to Adsense.

You and I know there are the good ways and the bad ways to SEO – yes, the white hats and the black hats. Whatever you do, that is your choice. Some people are doing the black hats, but to them, as long as they are in compliance with the Adsense TOS, they have nothing to worry about.

To me, you do what you want and take responsibilities for the outcome. If you are doing black hat SEO, and you are making boatloads of money – then good for you.

And after that, there’re the non-SEO methods. I know of some people who are doing the arbitrage method. They go for high paying keywords, and then advertise their sites for lower prices. And they make profit from the difference. It may sounds strange at first, but some actually made it work.

Other non-SEO methods are like posting at forums, writing articles and doing press releases on their websites.

I have also heard about a strategy where you create an e-course with email, and then send your subscribers to a web pages that contains the lessons and of course, Adsense. This way, you can capture one guy, and probably make money from him/her over and over again.

4 – It’s a Numbers Game

All in all … Adsense is a numbers game. If you find something that is working for you, to make more income is just to do it again and again. For the black hat SEOers, they just build more and more websites.

Unless you successfully build and grow a community-based website, you may want to build more sites. If you build one site that is making $100 a month, then 10 sites would give you $1000. But then again, I would say, you are bound to have sites that will just flop. So out of 10, maybe 3 is doing great, 4 is just so-so, and another 3 just flopped.

If a so-so site makes $30 a month, and a great site is doing $300 a month, with just 10 sites, you might be making $1020 a month.

Just like I said … it’s a numbers game.

I was very excited to finally be at the age where I could get a car and a job. Unfortunately, the job part isn’t working out so well. I’ve applied for numerous stores in the area from K-mart to McDonald’s, and I’ve been denied the privilege of working at every single one. I’ve thought of more adventurous ways to earn money, but all of them don’t seem to be very realistic or appealing to me. A lot of online tutorials that tell teens how to make money recommend babysitting, but few people would trust their children in the hands of a stranger. An allowance is out of the question since we have just enough money to get through the summer until my mother gets back to work (works in a school). I thought about mowing lawns, and to me it seems like an ok idea, but my mother told me that it was not likely to work and that I should just fill out more job applications. Is there anything that I’ve missed as far as how I can earn money? I’ve looked into taking surveys online, but the pay is quite low for the amount of work that needs to be done. I also had a web comic out for awhile that failed to gain popularity (so much for Google AdSense). I’m plum out of ideas.

Google loves sites that have a lot of links pointing to them because this means other webmasters hold your site in high regard, and Google assumes this means the content is useful. And naturally, if you create a useful site, other webmasters will link to it because this makes them useful to their visitors (thereby developing site loyalty), and they gain credibility and authority because they’re associated with you.

For starters, to make good money from Google Adsense™ you need to optimise your website with top paying keywords. For Google™ to know what ads to serve on your site, it has to send a robot (software with specific instructions) to scan your site and know what it is all about (your website’s theme). On the basis of the results obtained from that scan (which takes a flash), Google™ will go ahead and serve you with ads that match your site’s content (Adsense).

First of all you need to build a useful website about one these topics preferably and not just adding pages having these type of content while on the other hand your site is about a completely different topic. Google has a system called smart pricing whereby if you are getting lots of clicks to a specific ad and generating good money from it, sometimes Google will try to level the playing field in an attempt to provide a better return on investment for the advertiser.

A few days later on 12 August I searched at Google for the term “Free Online Business Tools” -without the quotes – and one of my articles was number one in Google’s results. The web page showing in Google’s results was my article at JustArticles, one of the article directories I submitted to just a few days earlier. Today, two days later, I am still ranking number one at Google but the article showing today is one of these articles at GoArticles, another article directory.

In the long term the most important thing you can do to get and keep great rankings in the search engines is providing excellent content for your visitors. Visitors should always come first. If you keep this in mind you will naturally get lots of links just because your visitors like your pages. While you may have heard that you should focus on a certain keyword density and things like that in reality all you should worry about is providing a making a great website.

Of course, these texts should be human-friendly as much as it is search engine-friendly. You should include the keywords only when it’s natural and necessary for you to do so. If you embedded the text with too many keywords, it can sound unpleasant and be recognized as trash text by most search engines. Most black hat SEO tactics include keyword embedding, which could ban the website from search engines permanently.

The biggest mistake people make is in failing to track results. It’s not enough to do something; you also have to measure how your actions affect your online marketing business. If you’re not tracking the results, you’re driving blind. It is essential that you track results to save money, create more business, and develop structured campaigns.
